Performative Dinner with Curator Rosita Ronzini

March 6–9, 2026

Between 6th and 9th March, she was in Göteborg to investigate concepts of commoning and local food practices in Nordic contexts. SWIT supported her residency through an Open Call for Göteborg-based artists working with food, giving her the chance to carry out studio visits. After that, the curator decided to host a performative dinner with them, which posed, among many, the question: “Who taught you to nourish yourself?”.
Hosted at the Old Hotel room in HDK-Valand, Rosita set a long table by entirely covering it with aluminium foil. She later proceeded to place food directly on it; no plates or cutlery were to be found. SWIT helped with the preparation and assemblage of the meal, where local products had been cooked to reenact the common flavors of Rosita’s culinary tradition, originating from Apulia, Italy.
To break the ice, she first asked the guests to assemble the appetizer for the person to one’s right. Then, she introduced the aforementioned questions, curating the dinner as a site of dialogue and learning.
