Elena Vaninetti (b. 1984, Lovere. She/her) was invited through an open call to spend a two-week research-based residency in Gothenburg. It gave her the opportunity to build on her own research project based on archival material.
To support this, SWIT launched an open call for local artists working with archives, in order to connect the curator with the city’s art landscape. She was able to engage with local practices and expand her network through studio visits and on-site experiences.
She had access to the facilities at Göteborgs Bildverkstad, and her accommodation and travels costs were covered. In the following pictures, you can see snippets of her experience and of works of some artists she met.
