FOLDED CITIES is an itinerant exhibition with self-published photobooks by Italian and Nordic artists.
Following an Open Call by SWIT Platform, the selected Italian photobooks were paired with Nordic publications from the Take 10 Press Library collection, creating conversations between the two different contexts. The selection was based on thematic and method-based connections, as well as contrasts in expression, aesthetics, and production approaches.
Between March 20 – April 10, the exhibition is hosted at Lagerhusets Bibliotek, a public library in Göteborg. The photobooks are scattered on the shelves among traditional books, countering the usual hierarchy between the two formats. Placed in a public space, any visitor can stumble across them, reaching a wider audience than usual. The exhibition will travel to Italy in fall.
